This young man was really struggling with relationships in social situations. He lives with his grandparents and has a disrupted childhood and family life. He desperately wanted freedom and direction in his life being only 20 years old. His feelings were getting in the way of his college and he kept having to put life and work on hold to deal with his current emotions and situation. When he couldn't sleep due to anxiety this would lead him to self-harm. He wanted more control and inner peace.
During the first session, I met with the young man and began by getting to know him and his history. We discussed his stress and anxiety, as well as his underlying issues of ADHD and self-harm. We also talked about his goals for treatment, which included feeling more in control of his thoughts and emotions, reducing his stress and anxiety levels, and gaining a greater sense of self-awareness.
In this session, I introduced the young man to rapid change hypnosis, which involves inducing a trance-like state to access the subconscious mind recognised by ideomotor communication and create rapid change. I also introduced him to parts negotiation, which involves working with different parts of the self to resolve inner conflicts. After this, he reported an instant feeling of freedom.
In the second session, we continued to explore rapid change hypnosis We also discussed his dreams and used Dream Architecture Therapy to explore the underlying issues that were contributing to his anxiety and self-harm and identify answers to hidden questions to help him move forward. He loved this session and was looking forward to the next session to go even deeper. We began to explore Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), which involve tapping on specific meridian points to release emotional blockages and promote healing.
In the third session, we focused on the young man's problems with sleep using rapid change hypnosis and parts negotiation to explore his relationship with this part of himself. He responded really well to this and said he felt less stressed out in the evenings and was better to able to drift off at night
In the final session, we reviewed the progress the young man had made over the past three weeks. We discussed his improved sense of self-awareness and control over his thoughts and emotions, as well as his reduced stress and anxiety levels. These included improved emotional regulation, increased self-awareness, and a greater sense of peace and calm. We went deeply into self-hypnosis practice and routine so he can continue to induce a relaxed trance state and self healself-healinging.
He reported a really positive outcome. He said he experienced a significant reduction in his stress and anxiety levels, as well as a greater sense of control over his thoughts and emotions. He also gained a greater sense of self-awareness and improved his emotional regulation. His family members had noticed positive change. He listed several benefits from the use of rapid change hypnosis, parts negotiation, EFT, and Dream Architecture Therapy including improved emotional control, better nights sleep, less stress reducing his negative thoughts and self-harm tendencies, a sense of freedom, looking forward to the future and he went on to take driving lessons so he can be more independent
